What is your time worth?

I recently worked with a new client, voicing a character for an escape room.
We booked in a live session and recorded all lines within an hour.

At the end of the session, the client said:

"This is the first time I'm working with a professional voice actor. It's amazing how easy that was. You nailed every take and we got it done so quickly. I usually just ask friends to do the voices, but it takes them ages to get it right."

This client had made a smart decision.

By hiring an ✨expensive✨ professional, he actually saved money because he freed up his own time and energy.

The same for the creator of an audio drama who sent me the below lovely email yesterday.
He hires professional voice actors because it means he doesn't have to keep going back and forth.
He can focus on what he does best.

Whether it's a video editor, copywriter, graphic designer, translator, voice actor or any other freelancer you hire...the reason that they are what you might consider ✨expensive✨, is because they will get the job done better and in a fraction of the time that it would take you to do it yourself.
