It’s not just reading words off a page
Corporate voice over work is where I got started. Some of my oldest clients have been with me since the very beginning, regularly hiring me to voice explainer videos, image films or and internal presentations for them.
The attention spans of today’s audiences are incredibly short (I’m looking at you TikTok), and keeping someone watching a video for 2 minutes is a real challenge.
Attention spans are getting shorter by the day
Beautiful imagery that’s well edited, a good script and exciting music certainly do their part. But what really hooks the viewer in, is the voice. It needs to grab the attention from the 1st second, and keep it.
And that is only possible through emotion. Only if the narrator really connects with the script, the topic and the listener, will the audience truly feel spoken to and engaged with on their level.
I use my acting training to really feel myself into each script, as “dry” as it may be. And I always find those little nuggets of gold that help me really connect with and breathe life into your script.

Explainer Videos
The genre of the explainer video fascinates me. I am constantly amazed by the producers and script writers who manage to make sometimes incredibly complicated topics accessible and understandable in as little as 60 to 90 seconds.
And it’s my job to then take that script and make it not only accessible, but engaging and exciting.
Often times, an explainer video is the first thing a customer sees when visiting a company’s website. It’s the greeting, the business card if you will. So it needs to engage, entertain, look and sound great.
I have voiced hundreds of explainer videos for companies all over the world. I understand the structure and beats of an explainer script and I know how to capture, and keep, someone’s attention.
